Sky Dragon Chinese Restaurant 龍翔酒樓
About This Spot
Stepping into Sky Dragon Chinese Restaurant 龍翔酒樓 feels like entering a cherished corner of Toronto’s Chinatown where tradition quietly lingers above the bustle. Nestled on the top floor of Dragon City Mall, this spot invites a slower moment, accessible by elevator and tucked away just enough to feel like a special discovery. The atmosphere balances a comforting familiarity with a gentle pulse of community, where regulars and newcomers find themselves sharing the same large, cloth-draped tables suited for family gatherings or close-knit groups.
The pace here is unhurried yet attentive, with warm service that subtly knows when to check in and when to let you enjoy a quiet meal. The dining room, open and clean, offers glimpses of the city’s skyline—an unexpected backdrop to the rich Cantonese flavors being served. It’s a place where dishes arrive without fuss but with care, each bite a reminder of homemade classics and subtle culinary craft.
Sky Dragon’s menu plays out like a mosaic of Cantonese comfort, from silky dim sum like shrimp dumpling har gow to the deeply satisfying textures of pan-fried turnip cake and steamed shredded pork rolls. There’s a humble joy in the carefully prepared congee with preserved egg and salted pork or the lively brightness of water boiled snow pea shoots. Whether sharing a platter of roast pork buns or savoring the ginger-steamed chicken with rice, the food feels rooted in good memories and everyday celebrations.
More than just a restaurant, it’s a quiet keeper of community rhythms. The staff recognize many faces, and there’s an easy sense of belonging that makes this spot less a stopover and more a weekly ritual for some. Guests linger over servings of honey pepper beef ribs or spicy Singapore-style fried vermicelli, appreciating quality without pretense. Here, both newcomers and longtime patrons find a shared respect for the old-school dim sum experience, complete with chatter and the comforting clatter of dishes in a space that has clearly stood the test of time.
Sky Dragon is a reminder that some of the best meals come from places that value connection as much as cuisine, where every visit feels a little like coming home.

I came here for dinner with my family. We came on a Wednesday evening and it wasn't busy. The service was great and they were very attentive. The food was great and it came out quickly. This restaurant is located on the top floor of Dragon City, and is only accessible through the elevator at the main entrance. I recommend coming here with your family as the tables can accomodate up to 8 people comfortably. They also have smaller tables for couples. The decor is a bit outdated, but other than that, the restaurant is nice.

I've been eating here with my family for years. I love this restaurant. The food is delicious, the restaurant is clean and spacious, the service is friendly and attentive, and the wait time for food is very short! They have plenty of high quality dim sum here. If you go to Toronto downtown (Spadina Ave.), I recommend snacking on curry fish/beef balls at Dragon City Corner Snacks, steamed soup dumpling (pork) at Juicy Dumpling, and then dining at Sky Dragon Chinese Restaurant. All these places are in the same building (Dragon City mall)

I always enjoy my visits to Sky Dragon. The food is consistently fresh and tasty. Some highlights are the chives and shrimp pancake (#20) and rice noodle roll w/ pork and green onion (#39). It's one of the least expensive dim sum options in Chinatown, but the quality is still good. Great views of the city from the dining room. It's fun taking the elevator or stairs to the top of the Dragon City mall. Are there better dim sum places in the city? Absolutely. But food/atmosphere/staff are great at Sky Dragon, especially given its price point.

One of the last few dim sum places with a classic authentic feel remaining in Chinatown. One thing you notice immediately is the sense of community as the staff know a lot of the customers, and the customers know each other. Love to see it and it'll be a shame if this is lost. Located in Dragon City Mall on the top floor, and has the old school Chinese restaurant table cloth aesthetic. They have push carts carrying around a lot of the classic dim sum staples, but you can also order stuff direct from the kitchen. The food is decent and also good value for money. Servers here are pretty friendly and can speak English and varying dialects of Chinese.

A Chinese restaurant at top floor, se got early so there are a lot empty tables. The price is affordable and similar that you find in Chinatown.
